Geneva College, in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, is affiliated with the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America, and its Christian identity is embedded throughout campus life and coursework rather than confined to a chapel requirement. It is a small, doctrinally serious evangelical college in the tradition of confessional Reformed Protestantism, a distinct flavor of Christian higher education compared to broader evangelical or Catholic peer schools.
Geneva is unusual among small faith-based colleges for offering ABET-accredited engineering programs, a rigorous technical offering most schools of its size and religious orientation do not attempt. Business, education, and communication round out the more popular majors. Bible and theology coursework runs through the general education curriculum regardless of major, reflecting the college's confessional commitments.
Applicants are expected to be comfortable with, or at least willing to engage seriously with, the college's Reformed Christian mission and behavioral covenant; this is not a nominally religious school where faith is peripheral. Engineering applicants should expect a more quantitative review than the college's other programs.
The combination of ABET engineering and a strict Reformed Presbyterian identity is unusual: most Christian colleges with strong engineering programs are less denominationally specific, and most RPCNA-affiliated institutions are seminaries rather than colleges with technical programs.
