Hope International University is a small Christian university in Fullerton, California, affiliated with the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ and located directly adjacent to Cal State Fullerton. It's a faith-centered school built around a core of ministry, business, and education programs, serving a mix of traditional-age students and working adults completing degrees through its adult and online programs.
Programs in ministry, business, and education form the academic core, with a significant online and adult-degree-completion component that extends the university's reach well beyond its physical Fullerton campus. Class sizes are small, and a Christian worldview is integrated across coursework generally, not confined to dedicated religion classes — a distinguishing feature from a secular university with a religious studies department bolted on.
The substantial online and adult-education side of the university means the traditional-age, on-campus student experience is smaller and more intimate than total enrollment figures alone would suggest. Prospective students should clarify up front which track — traditional undergraduate or adult/online completion — they're actually applying into, since the experience differs considerably between them.
