Stevenson University is a private university in Owings Mills, in the Baltimore suburbs, built around an explicitly career-focused academic model. Nearly every program is designed with professional application in mind, and the university leans less on traditional liberal-arts breadth than on direct preparation for a specific field.
Nursing, business, cybersecurity, and forensic science are the programs Stevenson is best known for, each structured with internships and applied coursework woven directly into the degree rather than treated as optional extras. Forensic science in particular has built a regional reputation, benefiting from the Baltimore-Washington corridor's federal and law-enforcement presence.
The Owings Mills location places students within reach of Baltimore for internships and jobs while keeping a suburban, self-contained campus feel day to day.
Because the entire curriculum is oriented around career outcomes, Stevenson tends to suit students who already have a professional direction in mind more than those looking for open-ended liberal-arts exploration.
