Penn State Schuylkill is a Penn State commonwealth campus in Schuylkill Haven, in Pennsylvania's anthracite coal region. Like other commonwealth campuses, it offers the standard two-years-at-a-branch-then-transfer-to-University-Park path for most majors, alongside a handful of complete four-year degrees offered on site.
Criminal justice and nursing are among the degrees Schuylkill offers as complete four-year programs rather than requiring a transfer, which sets it apart from campuses offering only the transfer path; class sizes are small relative to University Park.
The campus is small, affordable, and largely a commuter environment, without the scale or residential culture of the main Penn State campus.
Students should confirm in advance whether their intended major is one of Schuylkill's complete on-site degrees or one requiring a later transfer to University Park or another campus, since the two paths have different implications for cost and timeline.
