Mercy College of Ohio is a private Catholic college in Toledo built specifically around health care education, sponsored in the Sisters of Mercy tradition and affiliated with a regional health system.
Nursing and allied health programs make up nearly the entire curriculum, with many students training directly inside partner hospitals as part of coursework rather than only during formal clinical rotations. Class sizes are small, and cohorts move through health-focused coursework together.
The college serves northwest Ohio and functions primarily as a commuter-oriented institution tied closely to the Toledo health care community rather than offering a traditional residential campus experience.
Because of its direct affiliation with a regional health system, students often have a more direct path from classroom to hospital employment than at a general-purpose college with a nursing program added on.
