California Lutheran University is a private university in Thousand Oaks, California, between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. It is affiliated with the Lutheran church (ELCA) but is broadly ecumenical in practice, drawing students of many or no religious backgrounds.
Business, communication, and psychology are established strengths, taught in small classes typical of a school this size.
The Conejo Valley campus is suburban and sunny, and its location gives students real access to internships across the Los Angeles media industry and the biotech corridor around Thousand Oaks, home to major pharmaceutical and biotech employers. Athletics compete at the NCAA Division III level as the Kingsmen and Regals.
The internship access to both LA media and nearby biotech employers is a genuine geographic advantage worth factoring in for students in communication, business, or the sciences.
