Overview

Florida College is a small liberal arts college in Temple Terrace, near Tampa, associated with non-institutional churches of Christ — a fellowship that maintains few formal colleges, making Florida College one of very few schools serving that community specifically. Its campus centers on a converted 1920s resort hotel building, giving it a distinctive architectural identity.

Academics

The curriculum combines a traditional liberal arts foundation with required Bible coursework every semester, reflecting the college's religious mission alongside its academic one. Class sizes are small, and the college emphasizes close faculty relationships typical of its scale.

Campus & student life

Life at Florida College is shaped by its churches-of-Christ identity, with religious life embedded into the rhythm of the academic calendar rather than kept separate from it. The historic hotel-building campus and small enrollment create a tight, insular community near the Tampa Bay area.

Getting in

Florida College's admissions process weighs fit with its religious mission alongside academic preparation, and the college draws heavily from churches of Christ congregations nationally, reflecting the fellowship's dispersed but connected membership.

Worth knowing

The required Bible coursework every semester is a defining and unusual feature that sets Florida College apart from most private colleges of similar size, and students unaffiliated with the fellowship should understand religious life is a built-in part of the core curriculum rather than an optional add-on.
