Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus is a commonwealth campus of Pennsylvania State University in the Laurel Highlands region south of Pittsburgh. Like Penn State's other commonwealth campuses, it offers a smaller, more personal starting point in the Penn State system, with the same degree ultimately conferred by the university.
A limited set of degrees can be completed entirely at Fayette, while most students use the campus for Penn State's standard 2+2 path, beginning any Penn State major locally before transferring to University Park to finish it. Small early classes are meant to ease that transition.
The campus draws a largely regional, commuter student body from the Laurel Highlands and surrounding southwestern Pennsylvania communities rather than a broad national draw. Its small scale means a quieter, more local social environment than University Park's.
