Overview
Urshan University is a United Pentecostal Church International-affiliated college in the St. Louis, Missouri area, preparing students for pastoral ministry, missions, and Christian service alongside a handful of general professional programs. Founded to train United Pentecostal Church ministers, it remains closely tied to the denomination's doctrine and practice.
Academics
Bible, theology, and ministry programs are the academic core, with coursework grounded in Pentecostal doctrine and Apostolic teaching specific to the United Pentecostal Church. Smaller professional programs in areas like business or education exist alongside the ministry tracks, but the ministry-formation mission shapes the whole curriculum.
Worth knowing
Daily life follows United Pentecostal Church religious standards, including dress and conduct expectations distinctive to the denomination, and the student body is drawn heavily from denominational families and congregations nationally rather than from the local St. Louis area. This is best understood as a denominational training institution first and a general college second.
