Ohio University's Lancaster campus is a small regional branch of Ohio University, located in Lancaster in south-central Ohio, southeast of Columbus. It primarily serves commuter students working toward associate degrees or completing the first two years of an Ohio University bachelor's program before transferring to the main Athens campus.
Course offerings at Lancaster cover general-education and lower-division requirements for many Athens-campus majors, plus a smaller number of complete associate and bachelor's programs offered on site. Class sizes are small, and the campus functions as a lower-cost, local entry point into the Ohio University system rather than a full four-year experience on its own.
Students who start at Lancaster and plan to finish a bachelor's degree need to confirm which majors are fully completable there versus which require transferring to Athens partway through, since this varies by program.
