Pace University splits its identity between two very different settings: a campus beside New York City Hall in lower Manhattan and a suburban campus in Westchester County. That dual footprint lets Pace offer both an urban, internship-driven experience and a quieter, more traditional residential option under one university.
The Lubin School of Business and a large, active internship network are Pace's calling card, leveraging the Manhattan campus's location at the center of the city's financial and corporate districts. Performing arts programs, particularly acting and musical theater, have become increasingly visible and well regarded, drawing on the same Manhattan access that benefits the business school. Career preparation is treated as a through-line across majors rather than a separate office's job.
The Manhattan and Westchester campuses offer genuinely different experiences, and many students choose Pace specifically for one setting or the other — the energy and internship access of lower Manhattan, or the more traditional, green residential feel of the Westchester campus in Pleasantville and Briarcliff Manor. A large share of the student body is first-generation and commuter students, which shapes campus culture toward practicality over traditional collegiate ritual.
Admission emphasizes career readiness and fit with Pace's professional programs, particularly business and performing arts, and the university has built its reputation around outcomes and access rather than exclusivity.
The internship pipeline into New York City's finance, media, and corporate sectors is a genuine strength, and Lubin School of Business graduates are well represented in the city's professional workforce; performing arts graduates benefit from direct proximity to the city's audition and casting circuit.
