Antioch University Los Angeles, based in Culver City, is one of several campuses of the nonprofit Antioch University system, serving primarily adult and returning students through bachelor's-completion and graduate programs. It carries the broader Antioch identity - a progressive, social-justice-oriented mission and a history of educating working adults rather than an 18-to-22-year-old residential population - and it does not offer the on-campus dormitory experience associated with conventional four-year colleges.
The campus is best known regionally for its MFA in creative writing, a program that has produced a number of working writers, and for graduate programs in clinical psychology and counseling that feed directly into California's licensed-therapist pipeline. Undergraduate offerings lean toward degree-completion for adults returning to finish a bachelor's, with flexible scheduling built around students who are often working or raising families while enrolled.
There are no dormitories and little of a traditional campus social scene here; most students commute and many attend part-time while working, so community forms mostly through classes, cohorts, and program intensives rather than through dorm or club life.
