Overview
Stockton University sits on a pine-forested campus in Galloway, New Jersey, within the Pinelands, just minutes from Atlantic City, and it also operates a separate beachfront residential campus in Atlantic City itself. That dual setting — quiet forest campus and oceanfront urban campus — is one of the more distinctive geographic arrangements among New Jersey's public universities.
Academics
Environmental science benefits directly from the surrounding Pinelands preserve, giving Stockton a genuine outdoor laboratory most universities lack, and health sciences and hospitality and tourism studies are also recognized strengths, the latter drawing naturally on the Atlantic City casino and tourism economy nearby. A liberal-arts general education core runs through all programs, giving even career-oriented majors a broader academic grounding.
Campus & student life
The main Galloway campus has a quiet, wooded, self-contained feel, while the Atlantic City campus offers a genuinely different, oceanfront urban experience within the same university, and students can experience both settings depending on their program and housing choice. Osprey athletics and an active outdoor recreation culture, given the surrounding Pinelands, are part of daily life.
