Gannon University is a Catholic university in downtown Erie, Pennsylvania, a few blocks from the city's bayfront. Its campus is woven directly into downtown Erie rather than set apart from it, and the university also operates a second campus in Ruskin, Florida focused on health sciences.
Health professions are the clear center of gravity — physician assistant studies, a physical therapy pathway, and nursing draw a large share of students — alongside growing programs in engineering and cybersecurity. The Florida campus extends several of the health-science offerings to a second site outside Tampa.
Erie's urban core surrounds the campus, giving students direct access to a small city's downtown rather than a self-contained suburban quad. Catholic identity and mission show up in campus ministry and service programming, though the student body and campus culture are broadly practical and career-oriented.
The two-campus structure — Erie and Ruskin, Florida — is unusual for a school this size and matters most for students in the health-science programs that operate at both locations; which campus a program runs on is worth confirming before enrolling.
Required16 academic units including 4 years of English; remainder a mix of social sciences, foreign language, math, and science (no further per-subject breakdown published)
