UConn's Waterbury campus is a small regional site in downtown Waterbury, Connecticut, offering the first two years of many UConn degree programs and a handful of complete majors on-site. It functions primarily as a commuter, cost-conscious entry point into the UConn system rather than a stand-alone four-year college.
Students take UConn courses taught by UConn faculty at a fraction of the residential Storrs cost, with the explicit option — and for many the expectation — of transferring to the Storrs main campus to finish a bachelor's degree and access its full range of majors, housing, and campus life.
