Westminster College is a small private college in Fulton, Missouri, best known nationally as the site of Winston Churchill's 1946 "Iron Curtain" speech. That history is embedded in the campus itself; the National Churchill Museum sits there, built around a genuine Christopher Wren church disassembled in London and reassembled on the Westminster campus.
Westminster leans into that history academically, with real strength in leadership studies, political science, and security- and intelligence-related coursework that draws directly on the Churchill connection and museum resources. Class sizes are small, and the college markets itself explicitly around leadership development threaded through the curriculum.
The campus is compact and set in a small central-Missouri town, making for a tight residential community; the Churchill Museum and its programming, including lectures and visiting dignitaries, are genuinely part of campus life, not separate from it.
Westminster is not highly selective and reviews applicants holistically, with attention to leadership potential and fit alongside academic record.
The Churchill Museum and its associated programming are a real, distinctive academic and cultural resource; students interested in history, international affairs, or security studies get direct access to a nationally significant site most colleges cannot offer.
