Cleveland University-Kansas City, in Overland Park, Kansas, is a small private health-sciences university best known for its Doctor of Chiropractic program, one of the older chiropractic colleges in the country. Alongside the chiropractic doctorate, the university offers undergraduate degree-completion and health-science programs aimed largely at students who already have some college credit or clinical experience, making it more of a health-professions institution than a conventional four-year college.
The chiropractic doctoral program anchors the university and includes substantial clinical training through a student-run teaching clinic, alongside coursework in anatomy, physiology, diagnosis, and manual adjustment technique. The undergraduate side is built around adult and transfer students finishing a degree rather than students starting college for the first time, so advising and scheduling tend to be flexible around students who are also working.
Graduates of the chiropractic program sit for national board exams and go on to open or join chiropractic practices; the program's long history gives it a recognized name within the chiropractic profession specifically, even though the university is not broadly known outside health-sciences circles.
