Faulkner University is a Christian university in Montgomery, Alabama, affiliated with the Churches of Christ, combining a liberal arts core with professional and pre-professional programs on a campus organized around an explicitly access-oriented mission.
Business and legal studies are notable strengths, with the university operating its own law school, an unusual asset for an institution of its size and one that gives pre-law undergraduates a visible in-house pathway. Bible and ministry coursework is woven through general education in keeping with the university's Church of Christ affiliation.
Chapel and Christian community life are part of the regular campus rhythm, and Montgomery's civil rights history and state government presence give students access to internships and historical sites nearby.
Faulkner emphasizes access, with admission standards generally less restrictive than at more selective private universities, welcoming students who may not have had every advantage in their prior schooling.
The on-campus Thomas Goode Jones School of Law is a distinctive feature not found at most schools of Faulkner's size and character.
