LSU Health Sciences Center-New Orleans is Louisiana's public health-sciences institution in downtown New Orleans, primarily a graduate and professional campus spanning medicine, dentistry, nursing, and allied health, with a smaller undergraduate population concentrated in nursing and allied-health degrees.
Undergraduate nursing and allied-health students study alongside the center's much larger graduate and professional programs, giving them access to clinical training sites across the city's major hospitals and a research environment more typical of a health-sciences university than a standard undergraduate college.
Because the campus is overwhelmingly oriented toward graduate and professional education, undergraduates should expect a health-sciences-focused environment without the broader campus life of a traditional four-year college - a good fit for students certain about nursing or allied health from the start.
