Capital University is a Lutheran-rooted university in Bexley, a residential enclave of Columbus, Ohio. Its small scale and city-adjacent location let it offer close faculty contact alongside genuine access to Columbus internships and professional opportunities.
Nursing and education are established strengths, and Capital's Conservatory of Music is one of the older music programs of its kind in the country, giving the university a stronger arts identity than its size would suggest. Capital University Law School, located in downtown Columbus on a separate campus, adds a direct pre-law pathway for undergraduates interested in staying at the university for a law degree.
Bexley's leafy, residential character gives Capital a quieter setting than being directly downtown, while still keeping Columbus's internships and city life within easy reach. Class sizes stay small across the university's core undergraduate programs.
The law school connection is a real, usable pathway rather than a separate institution in name only — undergraduates interested in law have a direct, familiar pipeline into a Columbus-based JD program.
