Watts College of Nursing is a small, hospital-affiliated nursing school in Durham, North Carolina, one of the state's oldest nursing programs, founded in the 1890s and now connected to the Duke Health system.
Because it is a hospital-based program rather than a standalone university, the curriculum is built around clinical training inside an active hospital, and the Duke Health affiliation gives students hands-on placement within a major academic medical center rather than a simulated lab setting.
This hospital-college model predates the now more common university-based BSN pipeline, and the direct Duke Health connection is a real advantage for clinical exposure and, often, a path toward employment within that system after graduation.
RequiredCompletion of (or in progress on) 60 college-level General Education credits required for admission; program admits students who already have prior college coursework rather than directly from high school, so no discrete high-school course-unit requirement is published
