Columbia College is a private college based in Columbia, Missouri, founded in 1851 and historically affiliated with the Disciples of Christ. It is best known today for its network of extension and online campuses serving adult, military, and nontraditional students, with a smaller traditional day campus in its hometown.
The college's academic identity is built around flexibility for working adults and military-affiliated students, with online and evening formats designed around nontraditional schedules more than around a single flagship discipline.
Students considering Columbia College should be clear on which version of the school they are evaluating, since the small traditional day campus in Columbia, Missouri and the much larger network of adult- and military-serving extension and online programs are quite different experiences under one institutional name.
Required12 units of college-preparatory coursework with a grade of 'C' or higher (one of several alternative admission pathways alongside a 3.0+ high school GPA, or a qualifying ACT/SAT score plus top-50-percent class rank)
