Penn State Greater Allegheny, in McKeesport, is one of Penn State's small Commonwealth Campuses in the Monongahela Valley southeast of Pittsburgh. Students can complete a limited set of full degrees on-site or begin coursework there and transfer to University Park or another Penn State campus to finish, earning the same Penn State degree either way.
The small McKeesport campus serves a largely regional, commuter student population from the Mon Valley and greater Pittsburgh area, offering a much smaller-scale, lower-cost entry point into the Penn State system than University Park.
As with Penn State's other small Commonwealth Campuses, prospective students should check which specific majors can be completed entirely at Greater Allegheny versus which require transferring to a larger campus partway through.
