The University of Indianapolis is a private university on the south side of Indiana's capital city, with historical roots in the United Methodist Church. It has built a strong identity around health sciences, supported by the university's own doctoral-level programs in fields like physical and occupational therapy that feed directly from the undergraduate level.
Physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, and athletic training are the university's signature strengths, often with direct pathways from undergraduate study into the university's own graduate health programs. Education and business are also established offerings, all taught in relatively small classes.
The south-Indianapolis location puts students close to the city's hospital systems and other internship sites, which the health-sciences programs draw on heavily for clinical placements.
The direct undergraduate-to-graduate pipeline in fields like physical and occupational therapy is a real advantage for students who already know they want to pursue those licensed professions, since it can streamline what is otherwise a competitive, multi-step admissions path into graduate health programs.
