Baptist Health Sciences University is a small, faith-affiliated health-professions university in Memphis, operated by Baptist Memorial Health Care. It trains nurses and allied-health specialists almost exclusively rather than offering a broad liberal-arts catalog, and its identity is inseparable from the hospital system that founded and sponsors it.
Programs center on nursing and allied-health fields such as diagnostic imaging and respiratory therapy, with clinical training embedded directly in Baptist Memorial facilities rather than at outside placement sites.
Graduates often move directly into jobs within the Baptist Memorial Health Care system, giving the university an unusually direct and localized employment pipeline for a school of its size.
