Salisbury University is a public university on Maryland's Eastern Shore, part of the University System of Maryland, with a reputation as one of the stronger regional public universities in the mid-Atlantic.
Education, nursing, and business through its Perdue School of Business are its most established programs, giving it real name recognition beyond its size for a public regional university.
The campus is a certified arboretum, giving it a notably green, landscaped feel, and its location puts students about half an hour from Ocean City's beaches, a real factor in weekend life for many students. The residential feel is stronger than at many regional publics, with a larger share of students living on campus.
