Graceland University is a private university in the small town of Lamoni, Iowa, founded by and still affiliated with the Community of Christ denomination — a body distinct from the Utah-based LDS church, though sharing historical roots.
Nursing, education, and business are its most established fields, and Graceland maintains a second campus in Independence, Missouri, dedicated to health-professions programs, giving nursing and allied-health students a clinical-adjacent setting distinct from the main Lamoni campus.
A distinctive residential house system organizes much of campus social life at Lamoni, grouping students into houses that function as an ongoing community structure rather than a one-time first-year assignment. The Lamoni campus is rural and small, with a close-knit, denominational undertone even though the student body isn't limited to Community of Christ members.
Review is holistic and not highly competitive, with attention to fit given the school's denominational roots and small-town setting.
The split between the Lamoni campus (general programs, house system) and the Independence, Missouri health-sciences campus means nursing and allied-health students should expect a different campus experience than students in other majors.
