The Arecibo campus is one of several regional extensions of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, whose main campus and administration are based in Ponce. It brings PCUPR's Catholic-mission programming to the island's north coast, serving students who study close to home rather than relocate to the flagship campus. Coursework runs primarily in Spanish and spans education, business, nursing, and general sciences, with a religious identity woven through general education requirements.
As a satellite campus rather than the system's main location, Arecibo functions largely as a commuter school for local and working students, with a narrower program list than PCUPR's Ponce campus. Students seeking a wider range of majors, residence halls, or a larger student body typically look to the main campus instead.
RequiredHigh school transcript or GED equivalency required; no specific high school course-unit distribution published (placement exams in English, Spanish, and Math required instead)
