PRISM is a four-week paid placement at Fermilab for students who will be high school seniors in the 2027-2028 school year (or 2027 high school graduates) attending an Illinois high school, connecting them with Fermilab STEM professionals on real projects. It pays $500 a week, about $2,000 total for the July 12-August 6, 2027 session; housing isn't provided (transportation assistance is available), and applicants must be U.S. citizens with proof of medical insurance. Applicants submit an online application, a supplemental questionnaire, a list of STEM courses taken, and a recommendation letter from a STEM teacher or club advisor. The 2027 cycle opens January 12 and closes March 1, 2027.
