SRMP places New York City high schoolers with Museum scientists for a full school year of original research, meeting twice a week (four hours total) from August through June on projects that have never been done before, from spider genetics to weighing stars. Students learn lab, coding, and data-analysis skills together with peers, earn a Lehman College credit at no cost, and receive a $2,500 stipend on completing the program. No prior research experience is expected; applicants must have taken an AMNH youth program course or attend a partner school.
