Purdue's Seminar for Top Engineering Prospects (STEP) puts rising seniors on campus for one week to explore engineering majors through faculty talks, tours, and hands-on activities, choosing from four one-week sessions between early July and early August. Applications are genuinely reviewed (not just registered) and require a transcript and PSAT/SAT/ACT scores; Purdue recommends three years of high school math plus a year of chemistry or physics going in. The program costs $2,500, covering housing, meals, and local transportation, with need-based scholarships available (contact the Honors Program after acceptance, awarded first-come). Sessions fill up and move remaining qualified applicants to a waitlist.
