EAA's Air Academy runs two residential camps at the EAA Air Academy Lodge in Oshkosh, Wisconsin: Explore Aviation Camp (hands-on aircraft building, welding, 3D printing) and Discover Flight Camp (flight fundamentals, simulators, pilot prep), both for ages 14-17. Sessions run 6-9 days depending on camp and age group; tuition is $1,350-$1,700, covering materials, activities, and lodging, and students arrange their own travel to Oshkosh. Admission is reviewed, not automatic -- the application asks why the student wants to attend and requires a $200 deposit, and a full session puts later applicants on a waitlist. Need-based campership grants, applied for after acceptance, can offset some or all of the fee.
