An independent nonprofit, unaffiliated with National Geographic, runs this geography competition exclusively for high schoolers. Every student in grades 9-12 at a registered school can take part in a school-level bee; the school champion then takes a virtual national qualifying test for a shot at the National Finals. The registration fee is charged to the participating school, not to individual students.
