HIP IMO places high school students ages 16 and up with faculty mentors in Moffitt's Integrated Mathematical Oncology department for an eight-week summer of interdisciplinary cancer research on the University of South Florida campus in Tampa. Interns design a research project with their mentor, join lab meetings, keep a research journal, give a 15-minute talk at the program's research day, and write a three-page scientific report. Selected students receive a $1,000 scholarship; the program provides the computer equipment and software.
