LLRISE is a two-week, project-based summer workshop held at MIT and MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where mornings bring lectures from Lincoln Laboratory engineers and afternoons are spent building an actual Doppler and range radar system from scratch. It's aimed at rising high school seniors (students completing their junior year) with a strong interest in math, science, and engineering, and runs alongside a small cohort living in MIT dormitories. Tuition and campus housing are fully covered, and transportation to Lincoln Laboratory is provided once on campus; students only need to get themselves to MIT. It's open to U.S. citizens nationwide (permanent residents are not eligible), and admission is competitive.
