The Crimson Summer Academy selects public-school freshmen from Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville — nominated by a principal, teacher, or guidance counselor — for three consecutive summers on Harvard's campus (roughly 4, 6, then 7 weeks). Tuition, room, and board are fully covered, plus a stipend of $800 the first summer and $200 per week in later summers, and a $3,000 scholarship for graduates who complete the full program.
