The Gateway Exploration Program (GEP) places rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors into Georgetown University School of Medicine departments for clinical shadowing, mentorship, professional development workshops, and a health disparities research project. Students apply through their school, then complete a virtual interview before being offered a spot. The program has historically served District of Columbia Public Schools students and, starting in summer 2026, expanded to include Prince William County Public Schools in Virginia. The 2026 program runs June 22 through July 31; program cost, stipend, and future application timelines are not published.
