The Aspen Music Festival and School is one of the most prestigious classical-music summer programs in the country, and accomplished high schoolers can audition into its instrumental, vocal, and composition tracks alongside college-age musicians. Admission is by live or recorded audition. Because Aspen doesn't operate campus housing for students under 18, younger students need a parent or an approved adult guardian living off-campus with them for the summer, and under-18 instrumentalists take lessons and chamber music rather than playing in the full orchestra. Financial assistance is available.
