The Governor's Program for Gifted Children (GPGC) is a seven-week residential summer enrichment program for gifted Louisiana students, held at McNeese State University since 1959 — the state's oldest and most comprehensive program of its kind. Senior Division applicants (currently in 9th or 10th grade) must have maintained at least a 'B' average and submit gifted-identification records (Pupil Appraisal report/IEP) or acceptable aptitude test scores. Tuition runs on a sliding scale based on household income for Louisiana residents (as low as $200, up to $3,000), with a flat $4,000 fee for out-of-state students, and substantial financial aid is available regardless of state.
