The Stanford Institutes of Medicine Summer Research Program pairs high school juniors and seniors with Stanford faculty and researchers for an eight-week, hands-on medical research project in a field such as immunology, cancer biology, bioengineering, or genetics. The 2027 program is expected to run roughly June 7 to July 29 (tentative). It's free to attend beyond a $50 application fee, which is waived for families earning under $80,000 a year. Applicants must be at least 16 by the program start, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and enrolled at a U.S. high school. Because of grant requirements, selection strongly favors students from the Bay Area, though students from elsewhere may still apply.
