Students first join the JA Company Program through a local JA chapter, where teams of 3-5 conceive, launch and run an actual business addressing a community need over the school year. Each JA Area may then nominate up to five standout companies — via an online form, a company report and a video — for the national JA Company of the Year competition, held each June. There's no entry fee for the program itself; finalists compete for first, second and third place honors at the national event.
