SDEA Educators Rising Scholarship

SDEA and NEA award up to two $500 scholarships each year to South Dakota public high school seniors who plan to enter the teaching profession and have been accepted to, or plan to enroll at, a South Dakota college with a school of education. Applicants must be an active member of a South Dakota Educators Rising chapter, enroll in the SDEA/NEA Aspiring Educators Program before July 1, and submit a transcript, activity list, three recommendation letters, and a 300-500 word essay. The award can continue into later college years for recipients who keep at least a 2.5 GPA (or rank in the top half of their class), stay enrolled full-time, and remain active with SDEA.
