The ARRL Foundation manages more than 170 individual scholarships — established by hams, clubs, and memorial funds — for licensed amateur radio operators heading to college, trade school, or graduate study. One application covers all of them; the foundation matches each applicant to every scholarship they qualify for based on license class, location, school, and intended major. You must hold an active FCC amateur radio license to apply (foreign licensees may qualify for the ARDC Scholarships). The 2026 cycle has closed; the next cycle typically opens in the fall with a late-December deadline.
170+ separate named scholarships pooled under one application; amounts vary widely by individual fund.
