Technovation Girls is a free global technology competition in which teams of 1-5 girls, trans, nonbinary, or gender-nonconforming students ages 8-18 build a mobile app addressing a real community problem. Teams are placed into Beginner (8-12), Junior (13-15), or Senior (16-18) divisions by the oldest team member's age; high schoolers fall into the Junior or Senior division. Finalist team members receive a $500/person educational stipend plus a fully-funded trip to the World Summit (Bengaluru, India in 2026; ~$10,000/team in travel value); the 3 Grand Prize winning teams (one per division) receive $750/person instead, and Regional Honors recipients receive $250/person. The program's parent nonprofit rebranded in 2026 to the broader name "Technovation," dropping "Girls" from its overall organizational identity and expanding into adult/professional programming, but the flagship high-school-relevant competition is still officially named and run as "Technovation Girls," with unchanged girls/trans/nonbinary/gender-nonconforming eligibility.
