Philadelphia Foundation, the region's community foundation, pools more than 50 individually named, donor-established scholarship funds behind a single online portal. Graduating high school seniors who live in the Greater Philadelphia region — Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia County, PA, or Burlington or Camden County, NJ — and can show unmet financial need (via FAFSA) answer a set of basic questions and short supplemental essays, and the portal matches them to the specific funds they qualify for; students bound for an HBCU may qualify regardless of home state. Award amounts, fields of study, and school levels vary fund by fund — some support two-year, four-year, or vocational/technical training, and some renew for multiple years with an annual transcript. Applicants need a completed FAFSA summary, financial-aid award letter, unofficial transcript, and one letter of recommendation not from a family member. For the 2026-27 cycle, applications opened May 11, 2026 and are due June 9, 2026 at 11:59pm (extended from June 8); accepted applicants must submit their acceptance of award by December 31, 2026.
