The Greater Cincinnati African American Scholarship Fund awards up to ten scholarships, ranging from $2,000 to $10,000, to Black high school seniors from the Greater Cincinnati area — a region spanning Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana — entering their first year of an associate or bachelor's degree program. It was started in 2002 by GE's African American Forum employee group together with local businesses, and GE Aerospace relaunched it in 2021; the fund is administered by the Greater Cincinnati Foundation. Applicants need an unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale and must enroll full-time right after graduating.
DemographicsOpen to Black/African American high school seniors who are graduates of a Greater Cincinnati-area high school (Greater Cincinnati Foundation's service region spans Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana), entering their first year of full-time study toward an associate or bachelor's degree.
