Provides guaranteed college funding (grants, not loans, with no separate competitive application) covering the full cost of attendance at any four-year school, two-year community college, or vocational/technical/career institution. Eligible are surviving children of U.S. Special Operations Command personnel killed in the line of duty, and — since a 2018 expansion — surviving children of a non-serving spouse who died on or after September 1, 2018 while the SOCOM-affiliated spouse was serving. A separate 2020 expansion extended full 'cradle-to-career' funding to all children of Medal of Honor recipients. Also funds college campus visits and reimburses application fees at three schools.
DemographicsEligibility is narrow: surviving children of USSOCOM personnel killed in the line of duty, children of a non-serving spouse who died while the SOCOM member was serving (losses on/after Sept. 1, 2018, per a 2018 expansion), or any child of a Medal of Honor recipient (a separate 2020 expansion).
Full cost of attendance, guaranteed for eligible children; not a fixed dollar amount and not competitively limited
