The MOAA Scholarship Fund runs an Education Assistance Program for dependent children of officers and enlisted personnel, active-duty or retired, across the uniformed services (children of former enlisted members who are not retired are not eligible). A single streamlined application is scored on academic achievement, extracurricular activity, military affiliation, and financial background, plus an essay on post-graduation plans, and can result in a Board of Directors grant, a $500 donor-designated scholarship, or an interest-free loan. Applicants should be 24 or younger with at least a 3.0 GPA (exceptions considered case by case), and renewing juniors are automatically considered for a Senior Grant.
