The Koniag Education Foundation awards this merit-based scholarship to Alaska Natives enrolled under Section 5 of ANCSA in the Koniag (Kodiak) region, or their direct or legally adopted descendants, registered as Koniag Shareholders or Descendants. First-time applicants write a short essay on their connection to Kodiak Island and submit one recommendation letter.
Eligibility
DemographicsAlaska Native enrolled under ANCSA Section 5 in the Koniag (Kodiak) region, or a direct/legally adopted descendant, registered as a Koniag Shareholder or Descendant; applicants may be accepted to or already enrolled, and must have (or will have) a high school diploma or GED by June 30 of the application year.
