The Wisconsin Cattlemen's Association awards five $1,000 scholarships each year to Wisconsin residents who are high school seniors with a background in the beef, veal, or dairy industry, enrolling in any university, technical college, or community college. Applicants submit an essay (up to 1,000 words), two letters of recommendation, and a high school office enrollment/GPA verification form (no transcript needed). Preference may go to WCA members' children and grandchildren, students majoring in an agriculture-related field, those attending a Wisconsin school, and students who've worked the WCA Steak Trailer. Funds are paid after the college verifies enrollment and first-semester grades, and after the recipient completes the Masters of Beef Advocacy online training.
